Multiservice Access Platforms

Cost-Effective, Scalable Systems for Traditional and Next-Gen Service Delivery

Introduction

Network operators are continually challenged to deliver an evolving blend of customer services over access infrastructure that has the optimal combination of cost, features, space and power requirements, interface flexibility, and growth options.

Sycamore multiservice access platforms help operators meet this challenge in a way that gracefully bridges existing and emerging service requirements without sacrificing important network features. Fully standards-based and carrier-class, these platforms can be used alone or in conjunction with other members of the Sycamore Networks product portfolio as part of a comprehensive network access and bandwidth grooming strategy.

Optical Multiplexers – OM1000/OM4000

The OM family of ring and terminal add/drop multiplexer solutions provides low-cost aggregation and transport of PDH (e.g., T1/E1 or T3/E3) and Ethernet client services over SONET/SDH networks. Compact size, low entry cost, and circuit/packet service flexibility make OM products ideal for a variety of traditional and next-gen access applications requiring up to OC-48/STM-16 bandwidth.

Integrated Access Bank – IAB-3000

The IAB-3000 high-performance channel bank platform combines multiple T1 or E1 network lines with G.703, RS232, V.35, X.21, OCU-DP, E&M, FXS, and FXO client-side interfaces, and optional IEEE C37.94-compliant Low Speed Optical Modules, in a flexible package that is ideal for meeting today’s changing network needs. Versatile, compact, and economical, the IAB-3000 can be used for multiservice voice/data access in public and private networks around the globe.
