Complex DCN Architecture and Inefficient Backhaul
DCN management traffic is backhauled to a core switching site for aggregation by a DCS onto DS3 and STM-1 circuits for hand-off to the core IP network, then routed to the NOC. In this architecture, traffic from remote sites consumes too much bandwidth and expensive port capacity on core routers.
